Vitrage as a basic for series of creative lesson on Elementary Art School (theoretical-project thesis)

The following dissertation thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part firstly examines stained glass as an architectural element. The attention is mainly paid to the Bohemian folklore glass painting, which was an integral part of the historical development of glass painting in our country. Furthermore, it focuses on the stained glass as a subject matter in art. This concerns the development of glazing window-apertures from the oldest references and proofs of using such methods to the modern impulses of the 20th century. Secondly, the theoretical part discusses art activities in art classes as well as their relation to the Framework Education Programme. Finally, minor attention is given to project-based learning at art schools together with the historical view of this issue. The practical part of this thesis aims to introduce stained glass as a specific subject matter of art series in pursuance of activities at art schools. Firstly, the organisation, preparation and partial realisation of lessons are discussed. Secondly, the particular lessons and their reflections are described. Additionally, the photo documentation of the lessons realized is included.

This Master Thesis "The animals in the cathedral. Architectural sculpture of animals and fantastical creatures by parlerian lodge in the St. Vitus Cathedral, their symbols and iconography" looks into the architectural sculpture of animal's motifs and motifs of fantastical Creatures. The goal of this work is to summarize recent aspects of research about this theme, explain in more detail individually motifs of animal's and their Iconography and their meaning for Cathedral of St. Vitus. Also this thesis want to explain how could this special animal's motifs fit into the places, where are they have been situated. Their Iconography is taken with larger perspective, by literature's reception from antique over czech medieval age. Concerning animals and fantastic Creatures in the southern vestibule - pelican and phoenix; an owl in the Crown Chamber; gryphon and fight between cat and dog in the inner triforium; an eagle, an unicorn, a horse with bird's legs, a phoenix, a pelican, a stag, a lion, a gryphon, a lioness, a bear, a "cat" and three chimera in the outer triforium; a lion, a dog, a dragon and an eagle in buttresses and at least a dragon and a goat on the Big Tower. The thesis called Virgin Mary Klasová - the compensatory haptic aid is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is devoted to the history of Gothic painting in the Czech territory. The work focuses on the history of the city České Budějovice and maps the development of the monastery Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She discusses the Gothic painting of Virgin Mary Klasová, taking into account its iconographic and historical significance. The theoretical part further describes the characteristics of visual impairments and gives information about its problems. The practical part aims to transform the image of the Virgin Mary on a compensatory tactile aid in the form of a relief.

Facades of townhouses in Slavonice

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the issues facades of Renaissance townhouses in Slavonice. It deals with the diversity of its architectural division and sgraffito. It observes factors, which probably influenced the formation of their unique shape. It describes in detail the fourteen selected houses and also contains photographs of houses taken by the author of the bachelor's thesis. It searches and compares Renaissance houses in the surrounding Slavonice, which have similar characteristics. It refers to unique collection of houses of Slavonice, especially given by the quality of sgraffito decoration and the simultaneous occurrence diamond vault. It highlights the exceptional cultural value and necessity of conservation, which tries to help.
Benedictine monastery in Trebic

This bachelor thesis is about history of the Benedictine monastery in Trebic according to accessible literature. In this thesis there is written general importance of the Order of Saint Benedict for our countries in the 1st half of the 13th century. A building in Trebic is described in this thesis according to its changes to this state. These changes are illustrated in appendix.
